For three years, I worked at William Morris Endeavor Agency starting as a comedy assistant for a Comedy Agent in WME’s Nashville office then eventually transferring to the New York City Office. After many years of rolling calls, writing up offers, and redlining contracts, I was selected as one of the few NYC assistants and only Comedy assistant selected as a WME Agent Trainee. I greatly enjoyed my time at William Morris Endeavor, especially the many live comedy shows as the leader of the WME department Comedy Assistant Tracking Group and great connections I established through the WME Agent Trainee program. I am incredibly grateful for every task no matter how small or large I was given as an assistant to Trainee that provided my current foundation and knowledge of the entertainment business.

As a graduate, I have learned how to work with team members across the country while also editing and crafting videos for online promotions alongside videos shown at our virtual fundraiser. This experience provided a great foundation of the entertainment industry alongside other powerful ladies starting their careers in entertainment.

Marketing and Public Relations Intern | Beija Flor Naturals

For three months, I fulfilled the role of Marketing and Public Relations Intern for a beauty line, Beija Flor Naturals, whose natural products have been featured on New York Times, Vogue Japan, and Essence. I had the opportunity to draft emails and research social media influencers to writers at fashion/beauty magazines in addition to communicating with some independent makers and in store customers. I also designed flyers for Bay Area promotional events and even edited product labels. Working for an online beauty company’s and in store development enhanced my skills in communication, design, and collaboration. More importantly, Bejia Flor Naturals was an incredible experience and taught me about the beauty industry.

Co-Founder of The YouTube DeCal

One day, my friend and I thought it would be cool if Berkeley had a class that would emphasize the impact of YouTube as a platform and the YouTube community. After many sleepless nights, we were able to create a syllabus and talk to the UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business to sponsor our course. The next semester, we were able to offer 30 Berkeley students to enroll in our course and receive semester unit credit for our course, UGBA 198, called “The YouTube DeCal”. Throughout the semester, we analyzed and learned about online trends and marketing strategies used by YouTubers. In addition talked about the development of the YouTube platform itself and how it encouraged other forms of business derived from these online communities. My role included leading and preparing weekly lectures and in class discussions in addition to grading midterms and final presentations. It was a remarkable experience and was awesome to meet students who were passionate about media.
